~stained petals~
The Legend of the Dogwood
In Jesus time, the dogwood grew
To a stately size and a lovely hue.
'Twas strong and firm it's branches interwoven
For the cross of Christ its timbers were chosen.
Seeing the distress at this use of their wood
Christ made a promise which still holds good:
Never again shall the dogwood grow
large enough to be used so
slender and twisted, it shall be
with blossoms like the cross for all to see.
please look closely (click to enlarge) at this picture - no editing was done on any of the shots
I was in awe of this picture when I looked at it for the first time on the computer.
~Notice the color of the petals underneath~
As blood stains the petals marked in brown
the blossom's center wears a throny crown.
All who see it will remember me
crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree.
Cherished and protected this tree shall be
A reminder to all of my agony. ~Unknown
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
the chastisement of our peace was upon Him,
and with His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

I am excited to be posting again and
have enjoyed the break and visiting with family in Louisiana.
My computer was repaired after the lightning strike and none of my pictures were lost. For the ones who have
left comments & e-mails thank you. I treasure
friendships that have been made through Places of my Heart.

all wrapped up into one
I have shared before two of my favorites...
Color = Yellow
Flower = Daffodil
~Both wrapped into one gift of beauty~
~They have shown themselves pretty these early days of March~
~What a pleasure to stand at the kitchen sink~
"A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake,
beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."
William Wordsworth
I hope you have enjoyed gazing on their beauty!
