~fulfilled promise

I'm keeping my promise!
I stated in an earlier post
that I would share my bird shots,
I have captured the past couple of months.
I hope you enjoy looking.
p.s. (I'll be changing my blog's background color soon).
Doesn't do the birds justice!

See the little fellow below flying in,
my husband has named him "Band-it", because of his face.

"Band-it" is resting on top!

The bird feeder is up above - he's looking up to wait his turn.
Isn't that precious?

He's still waiting, but moved to a different spot.

See how many you can count - in the trees too!

The following three pictures were taken before the snow day.
I had ran out of birdseed - had to keep them coming!

These two were the "watch dogs".  literally

She's keeping an eye on me!

I am ending with my favorite!

I've not been out visiting with you,
accomplishing some deep cleaning
and
enjoying my break!

Look what's blooming at my house....

See ya,
Karen

~dust bunnies & spring fever

We are experiencing warmer weather
beautiful blue skies
and sunshine.

~The body is coming to life~
Flower and tree buds are swelling.

I feel the need to open
the windows
and do a little spring cleaning.
~~~
Some re-vamping here & there
for spring & summer.
Cleaning those nooks & crannies that went untouched
during the winter months.
You know - those areas above the kitchen cabinets
and behind the frig.
~~~
I've gotten a boost of energy,
must be the added Vitamin D  :)
and I am feeling better.
Thanking the Lord for this.

School will be out for Spring Break
in a couple of weeks and I want
this to-do list marked off before then.

A much needed visit to family & friends
is on the calendar!  YEA!

Lots is happening and needs to happen.
so...
I am taking a break for
 spring cleaning & vacation.

See ya,
Karen

Watching, Waiting & Expecting

When a child of God is surrounded with worry, woe and trouble,
he can find comfort in knowing He has the One and Only God
to come to, cry out to and to look to.

We may rejoice and find satisfaction when reaching out to Him.

Submission
 by looking and waiting

Look to Him ~ but at the same time ~ Look for Him

How many times have I not realized He was at work,
because I was not looking for HIM.

Depending
Knowing HE is going to work

Waiting
In His own way and in His own time.

The song by Casting Crowns
"I'll worship while I'm waiting"
comes to mind.
You might want to google & listen to it.

All may look bright above me,
when all is black around me.  ~ Matthew Henry

Just some thoughts jotted down,
I pray you have a wonderful day worshipping
the One who is longing for fellowship!

~first touch of spring

Pots of home-made soup
Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows
SNOW in the South
Too many birds to count at the birdfeeder

Just naming a few of the many things, I've enjoyed these past few months.

But, oh the sunshine & the blue skies are beautiful!

What a Simple Pleasure!

They bring the much needed spring to the step
 and the excitement of the
new season Our Wonderful Creator is giving.

It is just around the corner my friends and
I'm not one to push forward to quickly
because I know every season has its length & purpose.

But, I brought the first touch into our home this past week.
These forsythia branches are the first signs of spring,
we see here in the south.
Oh, and I might add "my favorite color".  ;-)

These branches have given life & added color to the foyer and such a beautiful glow.

I had Mr. Goose perched on the floor in the living area,
but decided to give him a new resting spot.
He kinda makes a statement, wouldn't you say?

And, these little shiny treasures are new.
I found them marked down at Tuesday Morning.
We have never played this game.
~Bocce Ball~
I had never heard of it.
The small and heavy box caught my eye
and I opened it up and saw the beautiful shiny balls inside.
I searched the box for instructions, but none inside.
I just happened to ask a lady
who was on the same aisle (the toy aisle) and she knew
exactly what they were.
She was so kind to tell me all about the game.
I googled and printed off instructions when I got home.
We are looking forward to trying this new game out this spring.

I am linking ~first touch of spring~ to the following:

I hope you can spend some time visiting the others.

Oh, and these are waiting for me at the back door.
Just in time for pruning rosebushes and
 planting potatoes this weekend. :-)

Happy Springtime,
Karen

~Impressive, Easy, Delicious & Quick

I've been saving this one to share with you for Valentine's Day
and
the day has slipped up on me!

Do you need something sweet for Monday?

I am sharing with you a

Tried & True One

I can not count the many times
I have baked this cake.

Chocolate Chip Cake

1 package devil's food cake mix
1 small package instant chocolate pudding
(add dry pudding mix to cake mix)
4 eggs
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup warm water
6 oz. of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray bundt pan
with pam.  Combine all ingredients, except chips and beat 3 minutes at medium speed.  Add chips and beat 1 additional minute.  Pour into prepared pan.  Bake 55 to 60 minutes.
Let set in pan on rack for 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool on rack.

Top with cool whip & cherry.
Drizzle with Hershey's syrup.

And save calories by serving with
(I am in no way compensated by Coca-Cola for advertising their product. :)

ENJOY!

~ I have patiently waited my turn...

~this don't happen here to often~
You have shared so many beautiful snow pictures.
Now, I want to take my turn because
it may be awhile before this happens again.

Call some friends over,
(I will not be linking this post)
Word of mouth only! :))

Fix a pot of coffee
and bake a pound cake
have I got something to share with you all!

The day begin like this Wednesday morning.
(I was trying to capture a sunrise picture)
Front porch view

Snow began falling about 3:00 p.m.

The deck at about 4:00 p.m.
The deck before I went to bed @ 10:00p.m.
The view this morning
So many of these little beauties.
(I promise to devote one whole post to my feathered friends again.)
I'm going to hush - You Enjoy!

The view from the top of this hill was breath-taking,
as the sun begin to shine.

My heart is touched and my eyes are moistened
 as I end this post.
We truly have seen HIS beauty displayed
in a not so common way here in the south.
I would love to share one scripture that comes to mind.

He gives to (the earth) snow,
like (a blanket of) wool;
Psalm 147:16a

I hope you have enjoyed
and I pray I captured the wonder
of HIS work.
